Indian Club Announces New Name and Board Members

JONESBORO (6/25/08) - The main fund-raising arm of the Arkansas State Department of Athletics announced Wednesday that it will change its name from the Indian Club to the Red Wolf Club as of July 1, 2008, and also elected new board members for the upcoming year.

The name change was voted on by the board, which currently consists of 15 members.  Three new board members were elected at the annual Indian Club meeting held Wednesday evening at the ASU Football Complex. The new board members include Tyler Zeigler and Brad Edwards, both of Jonesboro, and Bobby Caldwell of Wynne.

Immediately following the annual meeting, the board met to elect its new officers as well.  The new officers include president Steve McFerron of Jonesboro, vice president Charles Luter of Paragould, secretary Lisa Golden of Osceola and treasurer Rick Gillette of Trumann.

“We're excited to have each of these new board members and officers who will help lead our organization into a new era as the Red Wolf Club,” said Doug Doggett, ASU Associate Athletic Director and Director of the Indian Club.  “We rely on our officers, our board and all our members to help us advance the sports programs at Arkansas State University.”

As a reminder, everyone who joins or renews their membership to the Indian Club Club by June 30 will be eligible to win assorted prizes, including leading the Red Wolves onto the football field for the very first time on Sept. 6 against Texas Southern.
