ASU?s Baumgartner Earns First Team All-Sun Belt Honors

MONROE, La., (5/24/11) – Arkansas State senior outfielder Todd Baumgartner was named as a first team All-Sun Belt Conference selection announced by the league office at Family Night in Monroe, La., kicking off the 2011 Sun Belt Conference Baseball Tournament.

Baumgartner leads ASU with a .348 batting average, 80 hits, 54 runs scored 17 doubles, 39 RBI and eight doubles on the year and is batting .378 in league action.

Baumgartner has played in all 56 games this season making 53 starts for the Red Wolves. He has also rewritten several career records at ASU including setting new marks in hits (266), total bases (389), doubles (39) and needs just one more RBI to tie that career mark as well.

“We are proud of Todd and his accomplishments as being named to the Sun Belt All-Conference team,” said ASU head coach Tommy Raffo. “He is very deserving of the honor and we look forward to him continuing his success through the conference tournament.”

The Red Wolves baseball team will begin tournament action against No. 2-seeded Florida International on Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Monroe, La.
