KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (2/28/12) - The Arkansas State women's golf team wrapped up play at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic on Tuesday, shooting a final-round 313 to complete the the three-round tournament with a combined 944 that placed the Red Wolves 23rd among 33 teams.
The Red Wolves climbed two spots in the final standings after ending the second round tied for 25th place. A-State shot a first-round 310 to end the tournament's opening day tied for eighth place, but posted a 321 for the second 18 holes as it dropped in the standings.
The Red Wolves were led by Anna Carling, who carded a 75 Tuesday for the best single-round score of the tournament by an ASU player. Carling finished tied for 48th place with a combined 231, which also included a 78 for each of the first two rounds.
Following Carling, Jennifer Welch finished tied for 84th place with a 236, Courtney manning tied for 91st with a 237, Jennifer Loiacano tied for 116th with a 241 and Jelena Latinovic tied for 162nd with a 253.
The Red Wolves return to action March 5-6 at the Hurricane Invitational, hosted by the University of Miami.
