FORT COLLINS, Colo. (2/3/12) – The Arkansas State women's tennis team fell to Colorado State 4-3 at the Miramont Indoor Tennis Complex on Friday night.

The Red Wolves (1-1) earned the doubles after Mariana Rong/Ioana Teu defeated Tori Arneson/Laley Schultz 9-8 and Janie Nowalnd/Tamara Slijepcevic defeated Lauren Mulhern/Natalie Heffron 8-5.

In singles competition Slijepcevic defeated Mulhern 6-3, 6-2, while Teu defeated Veronika Wojakowska 6-3, 6-2. Colorado State won the remaining four matches, however, and escaped with a narrow victory.

In the No. 1 singles match Rong fell to Tori Arneson 7-5, 6-2, while Heffron defeated Nowland 7-6, 6-2 in the No. 3 singles match. Shultz defeated ASU's Miloshevska 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 in the No. 4 singles match, while Adrina Wojakowska defeated Howey 7-5, 6-2 in the No. 6 singles match.

The Red Wolves will return to the courts Saturday, Feb. 4 against Denver.
