NEW ORLEANS, La. (2/1/17) – Arkansas State track and field sophomore pole vaulter Michael Carr was named the Sun Belt Conference Male Field Athlete of the Week for his performance last week at the A-State Invitational, the league office announced Wednesday.

Carr cleared a personal best 5.21m (17-01.00) in the pole vault to climb to the top of the Sun Belt performance list. He moves up to 31st nationally with his vault last week. He was the top collegiate finisher at the meet and his clearance improved upon his best from last indoor season by 20 inches.

The A-State Track and Field teams return to action this weekend at the Don Denoon Invitational in Carbondale, Ill.
