KENOSHA, Wis. (11/13/21) – The Arkansas State women's bowling team was 4-1 in traditional play Saturday and downed 4,883 pins to place fourth among 16 teams with 9,909 total pinfall heading into bracket play Sunday at the Ladyjack Classic at Sheridan Lanes.  
 
A-State (26-10) opened the day with a 1,056-766 margin against North Central and followed with a 998-931 total against Valparaiso. After edging Lewis 945-944, the Red Wolves came up short against Whitewater 974-909, but bounced back to close out the day with a 975-844 victory against Marian (WI).
 
Montana Meyer and Sheila Sutfin led A-State with averages over 210 over the five traditional matches. Meyer ranked 14th in the field with 1,054 pins, an average of 210.40. She had a high game of 237 coming in the finale against Marian (WI). Sutfin rolled 1,052 pins for an average of 210.20 posting a high of 244 in the opener against North Central. Her 244 was the high of the day among the A-State bowlers and is the second-highest game this season for any Red Wolves bowlers. Emma Stull bowled all five matches and totaled 1,003 pins for an average of 200.60.
 
McKendree leads the field with 10,540 total pinfall, an average of 210.80 per game. Nebraska has downed 10,217 pins (204.30) to rank second while Vanderbilt was third with 10,129 pins (202.60). A-State meets Vanderbilt in a Baker best-of-seven series at 8:30 a.m. with the winner facing the loser of the match between McKendree and Nebraska for a spot in the championship match.
