JONESBORO, Ark. (11/20/24) – Arkansas State Athletics has announced a series of promotions surrounding this weekend's home games in men's basketball and football.
The A-State men's basketball team has joined with the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas to conduct a food drive during Friday night's 7:00 p.m. matchup with Lane College. Beginning Wednesday and continuing through tipoff, anyone making a donation to the Food Bank will receive free entry into the non-conference contest.
According to the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas, its most-needed items include:
- Peanut Butter
- Macaroni and Cheese
- Canned tuna
- Rice
- Canned meats, vegetables and fruits
- Soups and stews
- Personal care items, including soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrushes
Donation boxes are set up at the First National Bank Arena Ticket Office, located in the lower red entrance, until 5:00 p.m., Friday. Anyone wanting to make a donation in advance can do so there and receive a ticket to the basketball game. Once doors open Friday at 6:00 p.m., fans will be able to show their donations at the ticket booths in the red, yellow and blue entrances of the arena. There will be donation boxes set up on the concourse.
In addition to the food drive, fans with a ticket to Saturday's 2:00 p.m. home football contest with ULM will be able to show their football tickets at the ticket booths of First National Bank Arena and receive free entry into the basketball game. A basketball ticket to Friday's game can also be exchanged for a ticket to Saturday's football game by showing the ticket at the Centennial Bank Stadium ticket office, which opens at Gate W2 at 9:00 a.m. Saturday.
Saturday's Sun Belt football contest with the Warhawks will also serve as the school's annual Heroes Day game. A-State has teamed up with VetTix and 1stTix to offer free tickets to several groups.
All currently serving military members and veterans are encouraged to go online to
VetTix.org to request tickets to Saturday's game. All nurses and first responders, including law enforcement, firefighters, EMTs and 911 operators, can go to
1stTix.org, register for an account and claim tickets.
The game is being presented by E.C. Barton & Company, which will be providing ear warmers with Red Wolves logos to the first 1,000 fans through Gate W2 when gates open at noon Saturday. A-State Athletics will also be providing 2,500 pairs of Thudersticks at the game.
Just prior to gates opening, fans are encouraged to welcome Coach
Butch Jones and the Red Wolves into the stadium by taking part in the Red Wolf Walk at 11:45 a.m. through Dustin White Realty Tailgate City.
Saturday's Heroes Day game will also feature the recognition of multiple area veterans as well as the 2024 Class of the A-State ROTC's Hall of Heroes at halftime. The game will also include an appearance by Miss Arkansas 2024, Camille Cathey, who will be serving as the team's honorary captain during the coin toss.
Miss Arkansas will also be meeting fans in Tailgate City from 11:00 a.m., to noon, appearing at the 107.9 KFIN tent during the station's "Countdown to Kickoff" broadcast.
Fans also have one final opportunity to take advantage of A-State's "We Win, You Win," promotion. Anyone buying one of the "We Win, You Win" tickets to Saturday's game will receive a free ticket to the Nov. 30 home opener if the Red Wolves win Saturday's game with ULM.
