Box Score ATLANTA, Ga. (4/13/24) – The Arkansas State women's tennis team was topped 5-2 by Georgia State Saturday morning.
A-State (7-13, 1-8 Sun Belt) came up short in the doubles point with Georgia State (7-13, 3-6 Sun Belt) picking up decisions on court one and court three. Yasmine Humbert and Sarah Millard fell 6-3 on court one and Rebecca Brody and Nejla Zukic were dealt a 6-2 setback on court three. Anna Grigoreva and Abigail Thurmer were tied 4-4 when the doubles point was clinched.
The Panthers took a 2-0 lead with Humbert falling 6-3, 6-3 on court one against Maria Paredes. Zukic suffered a 6-1, 6-3 loss against Francesca Miglio on court three as Georgia State took a 3-0 advantage. Georgia State clinched the match at court five with Sara Radojevic taking a 6-1, 6-1 win over Brody. Playing out the remaining matches, Grigoreva fell in a third-set tiebreak 6-2, 4-6, 8-10, but A-State grabbed wins on courts four and six to set the final score. Millard earned a hard-fought win against Pragnya Kumar on court four 5-7, 6-3, 11-9 and Ariadna Fernandez won in straight-sets over Sveva Bernardi 6-4, 6-4 on court six.
A-State plays its final regular season road match of the season Sunday at Troy. First serve is set for 9:00 a.m.
