ORLANDO (10/24/25) – The sixth-ranked Arkansas State women's bowling team began play at the Destination Orlando event hosted by Sacred Heart University with a 3-2 head-to-head record and totaled 4,932 pins over five Baker matches.
The Red Wolves are fifth among 24 teams in the standings following day one. Jacksonville State leads the field with 5,257 pins (210.3) with Vanderbilt (5,069) second and Wichita State (5,051) third. Louisiana Tech downed 5,024 pins to lead A-State by 92 pins for fourth.
A-State (14-4) suffered a 959-975 setback to Bryant to open the day, but responded with a 1,052-993 margin against No. 2 Nebraska. Following a 1,067-906 defeat against No. 9 Louisiana Tech, the Red Wolves closed out the day with victories over No. 19 Tulane (1,030-1,015) and Prairie View A&M (985-850).
Traditional matches against No. 21 Valparaiso, Texas Southern, No. 4 Youngstown State, Emmanuel and No. 14 Mount St. Mary's are on the schedule Saturday.
