Schmidt opened the season finishing tied for 8th at 10-under par at the Whirlwind Invitational and followed with a tied for 25th at the William H. Tucker Invitational. He helped A-State post two rounds of 18-under par 270 this season, tied for the second-lowest in program history. The Red Wolves' 36-hole total of 545 (-31) this past week was the third-lowest in program history and the 54-hole total of 822 (-42) ranks third. Schmidt logged top 25 finishes in all three events this season giving him a top 25 finish in 25 of 36 career events.
