A-State Climbs to Second Entering Final Day of Bulldog Classic

FORT WORTH, Texas (11/8/25) – The Arkansas State women's bowling team paced the field with 5,362 traditional pinfall to climb to second entering the final day of the Bulldog Classic at Cityview Lanes.
 
A-State (23-13) was 4-1 on the day to move to 7-3 head-to-head at the Bulldog Classic. The Red Wolves opened with a narrow 1,079-1,068 setback to No. 11 Sacred Heart but closed out the day with four consecutive wins. The streak began with a 1,004-986 tally over No. 1 Jacksonville State and followed with a 1,076-1,020 margin over No. 2 Nebraska. A-State continued strong play with a 1,096-1,026 pinfall advantage against No. 9 Louisiana Tech and closed the day with a 1,118-893 victory against Jackson State.
 
Katie Ruszczak paced A-State with a 5-game total of 1,093 pins (218.60) to rank seventh individually. She had a high game of 249 in the opener and topped 200 pins in four of five matchups. Maggie Thoma totaled 1,084 (216.8) to rank 10th while Amanda Lang had 1,083 (216.6) for 11th. Karli VanDuinen was 13th with 1,063 pins (212.6). Alex-Anne Auclair averaged 221.5 over the final four games while Kaylee Back had 153 in the opener.
 
A-State has totaled 10,520 pins (210.4) thus far trailing only Jacksonville State's 10,792 (215.8). Sacred Heart (10,317), Wichita State (10,315), Vanderbilt (10,262), Nebraska (10,196), Louisiana Tech (10,167), Sam Houston (9,918), Tulane (9,678) and Alabama State (9,436) complete the top 10.
