A-State Track and Field Begins 2025 Sun Belt Indoor Championships Monday

JONESBORO, Ark. (2/23/25) – Arkansas State track and field has claimed the last five men's and women's indoor track and field conference crowns, and its hunt for a six-peat begins Monday with day one of the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships.

Competition begins at 10 a.m. Monday inside the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Ala., with the ESPN+ broadcast beginning at 3 p.m. Tuesday's action starts at 11:15 a.m., with ESPN+ picking up at 1:30 p.m.

THREE THINGS TO NOTE:

1.     CHAMPIONSHIP TRADITION: Arkansas State has won five straight sweeps of the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships dating back to 2020, and is the only program in conference history to do so. A-State boasts the most indoor team conference titles in league history with 12 men's crowns and nine women's championships. On the women's side, the Red Wolves are looking to match Western Kentucky for a conference-record sixth straight title, while the men are seeking to extend their conference-record run.
 

2.     SUN BELT LEADERS: Arkansas State boasts several athletes atop their respective events in the Sun Belt Conference, with the full list below.

3.     #EVENTSQUAD: Arkansas State has three event groups ranked among the top 15 nationally in this season's fourth installment of the USTFCCCA #EventSquad Rankings, which ranks the top event groups based upon its best four performers. A-State is 12th in the men's pole vault and men's 60-meter hurdles, while ranking 14th in the men's shot put.
