A-State Bowling Caps Season at NCAA Pittsburgh Regional

PITTSBURGH, Pa. (4/5/25) – No. 10 Maryville downed the sixth-ranked Arkansas State women's bowling team 2-0 in an elimination match at the National Collegiate Bowling Pittsburgh Regional mega-match Saturday morning at AMF Mt. Lebanon Lanes.

A-State ends the 2025 campaign at 80-41 and made its 17th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Red Wolves have advanced to the regional in each season the NCAA has used the regional format for the National Collegiate Bowling Championship bracket. Maryville advances to face Nebraska in the regional championship Saturday afternoon.

Marvyille took the early lead by way of a 932-921 traditional team match pinfall. Amanda Lang was the lone A-State bowler over 200 with a game of 204. Malaya Chavez subbed in midway through the match and finished up a game of 197. Saralyne Nassberg rolled 194, Katie Ruszczak downed 176 and Karli VanDuinen had 150.

The Saints grabbed a 12-pin lead in game one of the Baker total pinfall and went on to build a 64-pin advantage going to game three by way of a 241-189 margin in game two. A-State's deficit swelled to 106 pins following a 220-178 margin in game three, but the Red Wolves got 10 pins back with a 214-204 margin in game four. Maryville went on to close out the victory with a 160-129 margin in game five.
