LOCKPORT, Ill. (2/7/26) – The third-ranked Arkansas State women's bowling team climbed from ninth to fifth on day two of the Flyer Invitational.
A-State (53-22) downed 5,085 pins over five traditional games and has totaled 9,886 pins (197.7) over two days to stand fifth among 26 teams. Jacksonville State paces the field with 10,623 (212.5) followed by Sam Houston (10,489), Vanderbilt (10,407) and Sacred Heart (9,952) in the top four. Maryville (9,847), Newman (9,797), Youngstown State (9,759), McKendree (9,749) and Valparaiso (9,749) complete the top 10.
Katie Ruszczak led the Red Wolves with a five-game total of 1,165 pins, tying for the individual lead. She rolled over 200 pins in all five games with two games - 258 against Indianapolis and 255 against Marian – topping 250.
Maggie Thoma ranks sixth individually with a total of 1,098 pins (219.6) posting three games over 200, including a high of 247 against Indianapolis.
Kaylee Back (974) was 45th and
Karli VanDuinen (961) was 49th across five games while
Amanda Lang (426) rolled two games and
Aubrey Kiddle (172),
Alex-Anne Auclair (154) and
Malaya Chavez (135) bowled a game each.
A-State met No. 13 North Carolina A&T to open the day and came up short 962-908. The Red Wolves responded with a 1,031-843 tally against Indianapolis and added a 1,116-865 total against Marian. No. 19 McKendree edged A-State 1,077-1,073 in the fourth game, but A-State closed the day with a 957-919 margin.
The Red Wolves meet No. 10 Maryville to open Baker best-of-seven bracket play Sunday.
