Red Wolves 5-0 on Day Two of Music City Classic

SMYRNA, Tenn. (3/7/26) – The Arkansas State women's bowling team went 5-0 Saturday at the Music City Classic to climb to fourth among 34 teams.
 
A-State (71-30) downed 5,216 pins over five traditional games and has 10,370 pins in total pinfall. Jacksonville State leads the field with 10,702 pins (214.0) with Sam Houston (10,558) and Vanderbilt (10,489) just ahead of the Red Wolves. North Carolina A&T (10,243), Louisiana Tech (10,073), UAB (10,059), Maryville (9,997), Niagara (9,979) and Wichita State (9,864) complete the top 10.
 
The Red Wolves opened the day with a 1,020-921 margin over No. 9 Wright State and followed with a 1,046-926 advantage against Quincy. A-State downed Alabama A&M 973-717 and moved to 4-0 with a 1,047-706 tally versus Carroll. The Red Wolves rolled their highest game of the day in the finale to defeat No. 21 UAB 1,130-962.
 
Kaylee Back led the Red Wolves individually with an average of 220.4 to rank seventh among all bowlers. Amanda Lang totaled 1,078 pins for an average of 215.6 to rank 11th while Maggie Thoma had 1,031 (206.2) to rank 23rd. Karli VanDuinen (197.4) ranked 42nd over five games. Katie Ruszczak bowled three games and averaged 182.7 while Alex-Anne Auclair had an average of 235.0 in two games.
 
A-State opens bracket play against No. 2 Vanderbilt Sunday at the Smyrna Bowling Center.
