SMYRNA, Tenn. (3/8/26) – The Arkansas State women's bowling team closed out the regular season with a fourth-place finish among 34 teams at the Music City Classic.
A-State (72-32) opened with a decisive 4-1 victory over No. 2 Vanderbilt. The Red Wolves took the opening game of the Baker best-of-seven 202-147 and grabbed a 2-0 lead following a 215-203 margin in game two. Vanderbilt got on the board with a narrow 236-234 tally in the third, but A-State closed out the win with wins of 195-170 and 213-190.
The Red Wolves then met No. 14 Sam Houston in the bracket, and the series went the distance. A-State built a 3-1 advantage, but the Bearkats rallied back for the seven-game victory with a 216-207 margin in the final game. In the third-place matchup, A-State built a 3-1 lead in a rematch against Vanderbilt, but the Commodores came back to win in seven, taking game seven 234-225.
The Conference USA Championship begins March 17 with a champion crowned March 22 in Harahan, La.
