Chad Sturkie

Biography

Chad Sturkie began working at Arkansas State University in September 2007 and serves as the primary athletic trainer with the men’s basketball, men’s golf, and women’s golf teams.   Before joining the men’s basketball program in the fall of 2008, Sturkie worked with the women’s basketball and women’s bowling teams during the 2007-2008 season. 

Prior to Arkansas State University he worked at the University of South Alabama from August 2002 to July 2007, serving as the athletic trainer with the women’s basketball and women’s soccer teams.

After earning his B.S. in Athletic Training from Arkansas State University in 2000, he went on to earn his MSEd. in Physical Education from Northwest Missouri State University in 2002.  He worked closely with two National Athletic Trainers’ Association Hall of Fame Members, Ron Carroll and David “DC” Colt, while an undergraduate and graduate student at ASU and NWMSU. 

The Paragould, Ark., native graduated from Greene County Tech and is married to the former Marlo Richards of Osceola, Ark. The couple has a daughter named Carroline.
