HIGH SCHOOL:  Played for Beaumont Westrbook High School, where he was an all-state and all-district (22-5A) selection . . . Ranked as the No. 24 defensive end in the nation by Rivals.com at the end of high school career . . . Competed in basketball and helped lead Westbrook to the state championship.

PERSONAL:  Born July 17, 1990 . . . Son of Bill Chavis.
