Perry Crowell IV was named an assistant coach for the Arkansas State women's bowling program in September of 2014 and is entering his second season with the Red Wolves.
Crowell's first season in Jonesboro was a successful one as he helped lead A-State to its eighth straight NCAA Tournament appearance and a 76-34 record. He helped the team earn nine all-tournament selections throughout the season and three NTCA All-Americans at the conclusion of the season with Sarah Lokker earning first-team honors, while Jadee Scott-Jones and Brooke Wood were honorable mention selections. In addition to his coaching duties, he was also responsible for drilling bowling balls and other equipment duties.
A native of Hoquiam, Wash., Crowell, came to Arkansas State after bowling for Midland University in Fremont, Neb., from 2011-14 where he set school records in highest career pinfall, highest career average, most total games played, most individual tournament victories, most individual all-tournament team selections, and highest season average. He was named the National Intercollegiate Athletic Association (NAIA) Player of the Year in 2014 and a First Team All-American.
Additionally, Crowell bowled his way to the Intercollegiate National Singles Finals, televised on the CBS Sports Network, and finished as the National Singles Runner-Up. He was named a 2013-14 National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association (NCBCA) First Team All-American after earning an Honorable Mention selection in 2012-13 from the NCBCA. He earned Second Team All-America accolades from the NAIA in 2011-12 and 2012-13.
Prior to bowling for Midland, Crowell earned several Junior Bowlers Tour (JBT) honors, including the 2011 Northwest Division Player of the Year Runner-Up. He was the JBT Northwest Division Points Champion and has seven JBT titles.
Crowell, the son of Barb and Perry Crowell III, has seven 300 games to his credit and five 800 series, including a high of 857. He graduated from Midland University in 2014 with a degree in sports management and is currently working on getting a master's degree in sports administration.
