Whitney Miller, LCSW is a licensed mental health therapist who works with our athletes to provide mental health services. These services include, but are not limited to, treatment of mental health disorders, counseling, coping mechanisms, and stress management.

 

Whitney is currently working on her CMPC (certified mental performance consultant) certification through the Association of Applied Sport Psychology.  This certification will allow her to treat issues related to sport psychology as well as mental health.  These skills include teaching student athletes how to manage competitive stress, control concentration, improve confidence, reduce performance anxiety, recover from injury and increase communication skills.  It is Whitney’s goal to help every athlete have the best experience possible at Arkansas State.

 

She began her career working at an inpatient psychiatric care facility for adults at St Bernard’s Behavioral Health Institution. This gave her experience in working with a wide variety of mental health issues including trauma work and crisis stabilization. 2013 she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social work from the University of Arkansas in 2013. While completing her Master’s in Social work from Arkansas State University in 2015.
