JONESBORO (8-29-2007) ? Arkansas State University Athletic Director Dr. Dean Lee announced that Doug Doggett has been named Associate Director of Athletics for External Operations and Director of the Indian Club.
Doggett, who assumed his duties Monday, comes to ASU after serving as Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations at St. Bernards Healthcare. Before working at St. Bernards, Doggett was Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Regions Bank in Jonesboro. A familiar face in Northeast Arkansas, Doggett also served as News/Weather Anchor at KAIT-TV in Jonesboro for eight years prior to his time at Regions Bank.

“I am very excited to join the team at Arkansas State,” said Doggett. “As a graduate of Arkansas State, I am passionate about the Indians and love this community. I think ASU is a big part of this community and I can't think of a better way to be a part of it.”
“I know it is going to be hard work,” added Doggett. “But it is going to be fun work. I grew up playing every sport you can imagine, so I love athletics and I love ASU. This is a perfect fit and I can't wait to be a part of it.”
Doggett, who has received numerous awards for his work in marketing and development, was named the Outstanding Young Executive of 2006 by Northeast Arkansas Business Today. His team was also the recipient of 10 top Diamond Awards for marketing excellence from the Arkansas Hospital Association, and received three Certificates of Excellence for healthcare marketing by the AHA. He was a member of the Regions Bank Chairman's Club for sales success in 2004.
“We are delighted to have Doug join our senior administrative team,” said ASU Director of Athletics Dr. Dean Lee. “Having graduated from ASU and working within this community for a number of years, Doug brings a wealth of solid relationships that we feel will beneficial ASU Athletics. We feel his experiences and contacts will enhance our Indian Club efforts and allow us to grow it to new heights in the future.”
