JONESBORO, Ark. (3/11/21) – Winter weather forced the postponement of the Mid-Winter Invitational last month, but the Arkansas State women's bowling team will host the annual event this weekend, March 12-14, at Hijinx Family Entertainment Center in Jonesboro.
This season's field includes 11 teams, 10 of which are ranked in the top-25 of the latest National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Poll. The second-ranked Red Wolves are among No. 1 McKendree, No. 5 Nebraska, No. 8 Sam Houston State, No. 11 Youngstown State, No. 14 Maryville, No. 15 Lincoln Memorial, No. 16 Stephen F. Austin, No. 17 Tulane, No. 22 Central Missouri, No. 23 Wisconsin-Whitewater and Drury University.
A-State is coming off a first-place finish at the Big Red Invitational back on February 28. The Red Wolves have played four events on the year, winning the Big Red Invitational (Feb. 26-28) and Louisiana Tech Invitational (Jan. 15-17), while finishing runner-up at the Prairie View A&M Invitational (Jan. 29-31) and Bulldog Classic (Feb. 12-14).
Baker matches are slated to start at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, while traditional games will start at 9:25 a.m. on Saturday. Sunday's format will be best 4-out-of-7 Baker format, beginning at 8:25 a.m.
