JONESBORO, Ark. (3/13/21) – Totaling 4,994 pinfall through five traditional matches Saturday, the Arkansas State women's bowling team is third overall with 10,431 total pinfall after day two of the Mid-Winter Invitational at Hijinx Family Entertainment Center.

Ranked second in the latest NTCA poll, the Red Wolves trail leader Nebraska (10,715) and Stephen F. Austin (10,541) with one traditional match to be played Sunday morning. Youngstown State (10,287), McKendree (10,204), and Sam Houston State (10,078) round out the top-six in the standings.

A-State began the day with a 1,059-988 victory against Stephen F. Austin and then defeated Central Missouri 1,098-952. After a 1,031-1,000 win over Wisconsin-Whitewater, the Red Wolves dropped matches against Sam Houston State (1,155-833) and Tulane (993-973) to end the day.

Montana Meyer bowled four of the five traditional matches and led the Red Wolves with an average of 207.0 while
Faith Welch averaged 206.2 with a total pinfall of 1,031 in five matches. Welch bowled the high match of the day, scoring 278 in the opener against Stephen F. Austin.

Competition gets underway at 8:25 a.m. with the final traditional match. The best-of-seven Baker bracket play to determine a champion will begin shortly thereafter.
