COLUMBIA, Mo. (9/27/21) – Turning in a 14-over par total of 302, the Arkansas State women’s golf team is sixth among 14 teams after the first of three rounds in the Johnie Imes Invitational at The Club at Old Hawthorne.
 
Host Missouri holds the 18-hole lead at 4-under par 284 with Mercer (+9) and Wichita State (+9) tied for second. Little Rock (+12) and Oral Roberts (+13) round out the top five with Northern Illinois (+15) and Illinois State (+15) tied for seventh.

True-freshman Charlotte Menager had the low round among the Red Wolves with a 1-over par 73 to rank tied for 12th individually heading to the second round. Menager registered the first eagle of the season among any A-State golfer as she eagled the par-5 ninth hole. Sophomore Elise Schultz is tied for 21st following a 3-over par 75 while junior Olivia Schmidt is tied for 25th at 4-over par 76. Junior Casey Sommer (T42nd) and sophomore Kayla Burke (T55th) round out the five players in the team scoring. Senior Maria Jose Atristain Vega is playing as an individual and is tied for 42nd at 6-over par 78.
