LORAM, Miss. (2/25/22) – The Arkansas State women's tennis team earned a 4-3 victory Friday afternoon at Alcorn State.
A-State (3-4) secured the doubles point to get off to a good start.
Thea Rice and Neja Zukic won 6-4 at court one, but
Emily Surcey and
Rebecca Brody fell short 6-4 on court three.
Yasmine Humbert and
Sofia Vdovychenko clinched the point with a 6-4 win on court two.
Alcorn State (3-7) tied the match with a straight set victory on court four. Humbert (6-3, 6-1) and Brody (6-3, 6-2) won in straight sets on courts five and six to give the Red Wolves a 3-1 advantage. Alcorn State tied it up at 3-3 with wins on courts one and two, but Surcey secured the win with a 6-2, 1-6, 6-0 victory on court three.
