SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (9/12/22) – Olivia Schmidt is tied for the individual lead and the Arkansas State women's golf team is fifth among 15 teams after two rounds of the Payne Stewart Memorial hosted by Missouri State at Rivercut Golf Course.
 
A-State turned in a 9-over par 297 in the first round and followed with a 10-over par 298 to total 595 over the first 36 holes. Host Missouri State leads at 14-over par 590 with UTEP (+16), Creighton (+17) and Oklahoma City University (+18) ahead of the Red Wolves. Wichita State is two strokes behind A-State for sixth with South Dakota seventh at 30-over par.
 
Following a 1-over par 73 in the opening round, Schmidt bounced back with a 3-under par 69 to total 142 (-2) heading into the final round Tuesday. Schmidt is tied with Abby Cavaiani of Missouri State and Mackenzie Wilson of Wichita State for the individual lead. With her 3-under par 69 in the second round, Schmidt posts her 35th career par or better round in 115 rounds played, 22 par or better rounds over the last 41 rounds dating back to the start of the 2021-22 season.
 
Coming off an impressive debut, freshman Morgan Beaulieu is tied for 19th with a total of 150 (+6). She posted a 1-over par 73 in the first round and 5-over par 77 in the second round. Charlotte Menager (73-80) is tied for 33rd with a total of 153 (+9), Olivia Coit (82-72) is tied for 40th with a total of 154 (+10) and Elise Schultz (78-82) is tied for 68th with a total of 160 (+16) to round out the players counting toward team score.
 
Playing as an individual, Casey Sommer is one stroke off the individual lead with a total of 143 (-1). After an opening round 75 (+3), Sommer posted a career-low round of 4-under par 68 in the second round, tied for the third-lowest individual round in program history. Also playing as individuals, Thitapha Iamtragul (77-72) is tied for 14th with a total of 149 (+5), Kayla Burke (77-76) is tied for 33rd with a total of 153 (+9) and Sydni Leung (77-77) is tied for 40th with a total of 154 (+10).
