COLUMBIA, Mo. (9/26/22) – The Arkansas State women's golf team turned in an 18-over par 306 in the first round of the Johnie Imes Invitational hosted by Missouri at The Club at Old Hawthorne and stands ninth among 14 teams.
Host Missouri is atop the leaderboard at 2-over par 290 with Lipscomb second two strokes back. FIU (+9), Illinois State (11) and California Baptist (+13) round out the top five with A-State three strokes back from Eastern Kentucky (+15), Northern Illinois (+15) and Oral Roberts (+15) for sixth. The average team total for the first round was 15-over par Monday on the par-72 course that spans 6,264 yards.
An opening round 2-over par 74 by
Charlotte Menager was the low round for A-State and Menager enters Tuesday's second round tied for 13th individually. Menager was bogey free on the first 12 holes and finished with 16 pars and a pair of bogeys for the round.
Olivia Schmidt is tied for 18th at 3-over par 75 while
Morgan Beaulieu turned in a 5-over par 77 to tie for 33rd.
Casey Sommer (+8) is tied for 61st and
Kayla Burke (+10) is tied for 73rd to round out the A-State contigent.
