COLUMBIA, Mo. (9/28/22) – Turning in the second-lowest team total in the final round among the 15 squads, the Arkansas State women's golf team climbed five spots for a ninth-place finish in the Johnie Imes Invitational hosted by Missouri at The Club at Old Hawthorne.
A-State totaled 6-over par 294 in the final round and climbed from 14th to a tie for ninth in the final standings and was just one of 14 totals under 300 for the week among a possible 45 rounds. The Red Wolves totaled 913 (+49) for the event and tied with Bradley while host Missouri won with a total of 877 (+13). Lipscomb (+24), Northern Illinois (+27), Oral Roberts (+33) and Eastern Kentucky (+34) rounded out the top five.
Charlotte Menager was among six players in the 84-player field to turn in a par or better round Wednesday. Menager carded an even-par 72 and totaled 228 (+12) for the event and finished 30th overall.
Olivia Schmidt was the top finisher among the Red Wolves contingent tying for 22nd at 9-over par 225. Mogan Beaulieu was 2-over par in the final round and totaled 230 (+14) and tied for 36th.
Casey Sommer (+18) tied for 56th and
Kayla Burke (+22) tied for 70th to round out the A-State players in the event.
