DADE CITY, Fla. (3/13/23) – Tied for second individually at even-par 142, senior Olivia Schmidt led the Arkansas State women's golf team in the first and second rounds of the Spring Break Shootout played at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club.

Schmidt carded a 1-over par 72 in the first round, but was 1-under par in the second round to total 142 for the day and tie for second among the 90 individuals in the field. With her second round 1-under par round, Schmidt extends her program record to 42 par or better rounds with 10 coming this season. Schmidt is among three players tied for second with Ruth Toennessen of Morehead State leading the field at 4-under par heading into Tuesday's final round.

Elise Schultz is tied for 28th after rounds of 1-over par 72 and 7-over par 78 while Morgan Beaulieu is tied for 33rd with a 9-over par 151 total (77-74). Kayla Burke is tied for 39th with a total of 152 (75-77) while Casey Sommer is tied for 50th (80-74). Charlotte Menager is playing as an individual and is tied for 47th at 11-over par 153 (75-78).

As a team, A-State is fifth among the 16 teams with a 36-hole total of 23-over par 591. The Red Wolves opened with a 12-over par 296, but cut off one stroke with a second round 295. A-State enters the final round six strokes behind fourth-place Troy and 11 strokes behind Florida Gulf Coast and Western Kentucky for second. Morehead State leads the field at 4-over par for the event.
