Red Wolves Total 13 Career Bests Friday at Arturo Barrios Invitational

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas (10/18/24) – Thirteen runners recorded career-best marks for the Arkansas State cross country team Friday morning, as the squad competed at the Arturo Barrios Invitational at the Watts Cross Country Course.

Jacob Pyeatt led the way with his second straight top-10 result, placing ninth in the men's 8K to help his team to a ninth-place team finish. The women's squad competed in the 6K, finishing 19th in the team standings.

Seven of eight runners notched career-best times in the men's 8K. Pyeatt ran a career-best time of 22:46.2, shaving nearly 50 seconds off of his previous best set two weeks ago at the Live in Lou Classic. Nati Enright followed in 40th with a personal-best time of 23:38.6. Dawson Mayberry ran a personal-best 23:49.0 to place 61st, with Evan Stevens running a collegiate-best 23:59.5 in an 80th-place finish. Avinash Patel crossed fifth for A-State, placing 128th with a career-best mark of 24:23.0.

Benny Brenneman ran a collegiate-best 24:26.4, while Grayson Young clocked a season-best time of 25:00.9. Matthew Dunsworth rounded out the lineup, crossing in a personal-best 25:39.9.

In the women's 6K, six Red Wolves recorded personal bests led by Maja Dzialoszewska, who placed 58th with a time of 20:34.3. Olivia Walter placed 75th with a career-best 20:46.5, and Delaney Mulick was 120th with a time of 21:13.8. Anna Hunter was the fourth Red Wolf to cross, clocking a collegiate-best 21:50.3 to place 181st, with Lizzee Winkler rounding out the scorers in 214th with a personal-best time of 22:07.6.

Madison Haldiman was sixth on the squad, crossing in 22:30.1, followed by career-best times from Ivanna Hargis (22:32.1), Sophey Pope (22:39.9) and Mia Conroy (23:18.4). Abbey Coberly followed, running a season-best 23:39.3.

NEXT UP

With the regular season now in the books, the Scarlet and Black turns its attention to the Sun Belt Conference Championships, held Friday, Nov. 1, in Foley, Ala.
