A-State Cross Country Continues Season Saturday in Bluegrass State

JONESBORO, Ark. (10/4/24) – Arkansas State cross country is set for its third meet of the season on Saturday, traveling to Louisville, Ky., for the 23rd annual Live in Lou Cross Country Classic.

The meet, contested at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park, opens at 8:30 a.m. CT with the men's 8K gold race, followed by the women's 5K gold race to follow at 9:15 a.m.

THREE THINGS TO NOTE:

1.     WEEKLY AWARDS SWEEP: Two weeks ago, A-State picked up a sweep of the Sun Belt Conference Runner of the Week honors, as Noah McMurtrey (men) and Mia Conroy (women) received recognition after pacing A-State at the Rhodes Invitational.

2.     LAST TIME OUT: Arkansas State last took to the course at the Rhodes Invitational on Sept. 21. A-State's women's squad won the team crown at the event for the fourth straight year, paced by Mia Conroy's 11th-place finish. The men earned an eighth-place result, led by Noah McMurtrey in 14th place.

3.     NEARING CONFERENCE TIME: Two meets separate the Red Wolves from the Sun Belt Conference Championships (Nov. 1), beginning with Saturday's meet in Louisville.

NEXT UP

After returning from Louisville, A-State will compete on Friday, Oct. 18, at the Arturo Barrios Invitational in College Station, Texas.
