JONESBORO, Ark. (11/12/24) – Arkansas State sophomore guard
Crislyn Rose has earned Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week honors to open the 2024-25 season, the league office announced Tuesday.
Rose averaged 24.0 points in the first two games of the season after shooting 64.3 percent (18-for-28) from the floor and 55.6 percent (5-for-9) from three-point range.
Four days after setting a new career high of 15 points at Western Michigan, she needed only one half to match the total at Arizona State. She finished with 33 points in a 100-96 victory over the Sun Devils, converting the go-ahead three-point play with 36.9 remaining before putting the game out of reach with two free throws.
Rose ranks 16th nationally in points per game (24.0), 37th in field goals made (18), and 41st in points scored (48). She became the ninth player in program history to score 33 points or higher in a game.
The Red Wolves recorded their first 100-point game against a Power-4 opponent and their first win against one since a 70-69 victory at Florida during the 2017-18 season.
