JONESBORO, Ark. (12/1/24) – The 2024 Sun Belt Conference regular season champions will continue their season in the postseason, as the Arkansas State volleyball team accepted an invitational as a co-automatic qualifier in the 2024 National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC).
A-State (26-5) is one of 29 teams in the single-elimination field and will face UT Rio Grande Valley (16-11) at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5, in Nacogdoches, Texas.
The winner of the matchup between the Red Wolves and the Vaqueros will advance to play the winner of Jackson State (19-11) and host Stephen F. Austin (23-8) at 6 p.m. on Dec. 6. Quarterfinal, semifinal and championship match sites will be announced as the tournament progresses.
A-State's bid to the tournament marks its second straight and seventh all-time to the NIVC. The Red Wolves own a 9-10 ledger all-time in the event.
