JONESBORO, Ark. (12/17/24) – Three Arkansas State volleyball players earned recognition for their work in the classroom on Tuesday, as Devyn Lewis, Erin Madigan and Grace Wiley earned spots on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
The Academic All-District Women's Volleyball Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.50 GPA or higher and be a starter or key reserve athletically, appearing in at least 90 percent of matches or sets played.
Tuesday's honor marks the third year in a row the Red Wolves had at least one player recognized.
Lewis boasts a 3.64 GPA as a marketing major, and finished fourth on the team with 244 kills (2.30/set) with a .219 clip at outside hitter. The sophomore also had 35 blocks, including eight solos.
Madigan, who owns a 3.78 mark in the classroom as a biological sciences major, had a team-leading 855 assists on the year and tallied 329 digs. The Macomb, Mich., native served 20 aces while adding 15 blocks.
Wiley – owning a 3.53 mark in pursuit of her degree in civil engineering – was one A-State's top attackers on the year. She finished second on the team in kills (302), averaging 2.31 per set, and was third on the team with 85 blocks.
