WILMINGTON, N.C. (3/25/24) – The Arkansas State men's golf team shot a final round 301 and finished 16th at the Seahawk Intercollegiate.
A-State's final round 301 was its best round of the event, but the Red Wolves were unable to climb the leaderboard. The Red Wolves totaled 57-over par for the event, six strokes back of Maryland for 15th, seven back of Wright State for 14th and 17 back of James Madison and Jacksonville for a tie for ninth. Auburn won the event at 11-over par 875 with the course playing an average of 4.26 strokes over par.
Jack Maxey paced the Red Wolves as he tied for 30th with a total of 225. Maxey turned in A-State's lone round under par Tuesday at 1-under par 71. Thomas Schmidt tied for 34th with a total of 226 while Hugo Ronnberg tied for 71st with a total of 234. Devyn Pappas tied for 83rd totaling 239 and Pierce Johnson tied for 90th accumulating 244 strokes.
A-State closes out the regular season April 8-9 at the Tiger Intercollegiate hosted by Missouri. The Sun Belt Conference Championship is April 22-25 at Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Miss.
