Blake Sutton cut the lead to two runs in the fifth after firing a double to the warning track in right field. Peyton Watts brought in another in the next inning after doubling to left field, making the score 4-3.

With two outs in the top of the seventh, Blake Burris singled to right center and allowed Campbell to score uncontested.

A sacrifice fly from Kyle Mock put Troy back within striking distance in the bottom of the eighth. With two outs in the bottom frame, Peyton Watts crushed a two-run homer over the wall in right field to put the Trojans in front 6-5.
