A-State Begins Play at National Golf Invitational

MARICOPA, Ariz. (5/10/24) – Arkansas State women's golf made its team debut in postseason competition Friday at the second annual National Golf Invitational (NGI) at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Course and stands fifth among 10 teams after the opening round.

A-State turned in a first round 13-over par 301, five strokes back of Chattanooga for fourth. Rutgers and UNC Wilmington leads at 1-over par 289 with Rutgers (+2) and Santa Clara (+5) rounding out the top three. Jacksonville State (+14), Mercer (+15), USC Upstate (+16), Florida Atlantic (+16) and Austin Peay (+16) round out the standings.

Madison Tenore led the Red Wolves with four birdies on the day and finished at 1-over par 73 to rank 14th individually. Olivia Coit posted a 2-over par 74 to tie for 15th and Ashley Kim totaled 4-over par to tie for 21st. Morgan Beaulieu (+6) tied for 32nd and Elise Schultz (+14) is 49th to round out the five A-State players in the field.

A-State will be paired with Chattanooga and Jacksonville State in the first group off No. 1 tee beginning at 9:30 a.m. (CT). Live scoring is available on Golfstat.com.
