MEMPHIS, Tenn. (8/31/24) – Arkansas State cross country opened the 2024 season under the lights of the Mike Rose Soccer Complex on Saturday night, competing in the City Auto Memphis Twilight Classic.

The women's squad placed third in the team standings with 97 points, while the men's team totaled 128 points to place sixth.

Newcomers Maja Dzialoszewska (18:42.79) and Sammy Mason (18:43.59) placed 10^th and 11^th, respectively, to lead the A-State women. Delaney Mulick finished 20^th in 18:58.69, with Madison Haldiman crossing in 19:30.20 to place 29^th. Anna Hunter was 33^rd, finishing in 19:51.84, to round out the Red Wolves' five scorers.

On the men's side, freshman Avinash Patel led the way with a 14^th-place time of 20:42.24 in the 4-mile race. Evan Stevens was 18^th in his collegiate debut, running 20:50.41, and Benny Brenneman clocked a time of 21:33.06 to place 33^rd. Nati Enright (21:38.59) and Dawson Mayberry (21:38.70) then finished in 40^th and 41^st to be A-State's fourth and fifth scorers.

A-State returns to Memphis on Saturday, Sept. 21, competing in the Rhodes Invitational at Shelby Farms Park.
