JONESBORO, Ark. (10/7/25) – Milan Reed fired a program-record 10-under par 62 to claim individual medalist honors, leading the Arkansas State men's golf team to a school-record 24-under par 264 in the final round as the Red Wolves captured the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate title at RidgePointe Country Club.
Behind a bogey-free round with eight birdies and an eagle, Reed claims his first career medalist honors with a total of 14-under par 202. His 14-under par 202 ties his career best from the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate last season and is tied for the sixth-lowest 54-hole total in program history. Reed's title marks the ninth time over the last 10 seasons that A-State has had, or shared, the individual medalist at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate.
Four Red Wolves finished inside the top five and all eight players wrapped up play inside the top 50 in the 72-player field. Thomas Schmidt was 7-under par 65 in the final round to close out the event at 13-under par 203, one back of Reed for second. Jake Wallis totaled 9-under par 207 for third and Jake Lile was 5-under par 211 for fifth. Chris Somerfield (+5) tied for 23rd, Niels Knudsen (+7) tied for 34th, and Viggo Hed (+10) and Cole Kirby (+10) tied for 45th.
Carding a program record 24-under par 264 in the final round, A-State totaled 41-under par 823 for the tournament, the fifth-best 54-hole total in program history. The Red Wolves topped second place UT Martin (-15) by 26 strokes while East Texas A&M (+9), Murray State (+11) and Evansville (+17) rounded out the top five. With the 41-under par performance this week, A-State now has three of the top six 54-hole totals in program history over the course of this season.
A-State closes out the fall portion of its 2025-26 schedule Oct. 20-22 at The Saint Mary's Invitational at Bayonet Golf Club in Monterey, Calif.
