JONESBORO, Ark. (2/15/25) – The fourth-ranked Arkansas State women's bowling team rolled the second-most pins in traditional play Saturday at the Mid-Winter Invitational to climb to sixth among 15 teams in the event held at Hijinx Family Entertainment Center.

A-State (61-26) went 4-0 in head-to-head competition Saturday and downed a total of 5,256 pins over five matches played while Vanderbilt topped the field in traditional total with 5,309. Jacksonville State paces the total pinfall leaderboard with 10,604 (212.1) followed by Vanderbilt (10,592), Nebraska (10,368), Wichita State (10,312) and Youngstown State (10,288) in the top five.

Kaylee Back registered five games over 200 pins to total 1,117 (223.4) and rank fifth individually. Amanda Lang totaled 1,112, including a high of 276, to rank sixth. Karli VanDuinen posted four games of 200-plus finishing with 1,057 pinfall to rank 16th. Alex-Anne Auclair bowled the first four matches and totaled 848 pins (212.0) while Katie Ruszczak downed 606 (202.0) in three matches. Saralyne Nassberg (186), Maggie Thoma (174) and Melanie Straub (156) each bowled one match.

Entering the day eighth in the standings, A-State topped Alabama State 1,027-921 in the opener and downed 1,059 in its second match as a bye. The Red Wolves dropped a season-high total of 1,189 pins in a 1,189-947 win over No. 10 Maryville and followed with a 1,068-915 tally against Jackson State. A-State closed out the day with a 913-795 margin over No. 17 UAB.

A-State meets No. 5 Youngstown State in the first of three bracket play matches Sunday. Senior Day recognition takes place at 7:30 a.m. followed by three Baker best-of-seven matches beginning at 8:10 a.m. Admission at Hijinx is FREE.
