BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (2/25/25) – Arkansas State track and field wrapped up competition at the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships Tuesday inside the Birmingham CrossPlex, with the men placing second and women finishing fourth.
A-State's men totaled 137 points in their runner-up finish behind Louisiana (142 points). On the women's side, the Red Wolves totaled 66 points, as Texas State won with 108 points.
After winning 5000-meter gold Monday, Jacob Pyeatt completed the double with a title in the men's 3000 meters with a time of 8:13.91, and finished as the Men's High-Point Scorer with 22 points. Evan Stevens added three points with a sixth-place mark of 8:28.70, while Benny Brenneman finished in 8:42.99 to place 17th.
Carly Pujol recorded a meet record to take gold in the women's pole vault, clearing 4.18m (13-8.5). Kaci Andrus placed 10th with a vault of 3.73m (12-2.75).
Colby Eddowes captured gold for the second year in a row in the heptathlon, winning with a season-best total of 5,738 points. He has now won four straight conference multi-event crowns, indoor and outdoor combined.
Will Glass won the men's 60-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 7.79, followed by Kenyon Parker in fourth (8.06) to give the men's team 15 points in the event. Parker later placed 13th in the men's high jump with a height of 1.94m (6-4.25).
Michelle Ogbemudia earned a silver medal in the women's shot put, throwing 16.37m (53-8.5) – a mark that is second in program history. Selase Sampram followed in fourth place, tossing the implement 15.27m (50-1.25).
In the men's shot put, Willem Coertzen secured bronze, throwing a personal-best 18:48m (60-7.75). Chris Boyd (17.09m/56-1) and Menachem Chen (16.91m/55-5.75) placed fifth and sixth, while Noa Isaia was 15th with a throw of 14.06m (46-1.5).
Kiara Strayhorn took bronze in the women's high jump, clearing a career-best 1.74m (5-8.5). Miranda Burgett added another point to the team total in the event, placing eighth with a mark of 1.68m (5-6).
Kamil Przybyla took bronze in the men's 800 meters, crossing in 1:53.50.
The Red Wolves took bronze in the men's 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:16.78, while the women placed 10th, running a season-best 3:54.42.
A-State scored six points in the men's mile, led by Brett Jacobs' fourth-place time of 4:09.33, which is eighth in school history. Przybyla finished eighth in 4:19.81, followed by Avinash Patel in ninth (4:22.76). Maja Dzialoszewska finished ninth in the women's mile with a time of 5:02.84.
In the men's 60 meters, Camren Bailey finished fifth with a time of 6.81. Bailey later placed sixth in the 200 meters, running 21.83.
Spencer Taylor ran a season-best 48.28 to place fifth in the men's 400 meters.
Sammy Mason placed seventh in the women's 3000 meters, running 9:50.44 to score two points. Olivia Walter finished 11th (9:54.90), while Maddie Haldiman ran 10:06.37 in a 16th-place finish. Lizzee Winkler ran a career-best 10:22.52, placing 28th.
