Red Wolves Eighth Following Opening Day of Music City Classic

SMYRNA, Tenn. (3/14/25) – The sixth-ranked Arkansas State women's bowling team was 3-2 head-to-head and totaled 4,997 pins to stand eighth of 31 teams at the Music City Classic after the first day of competition.

A-State (73-33) opened the tournament with a 1,011-809 tally over William Smith and followed with a 1,004-809 margin against the University of Indianapolis. The Red Wolves moved to 3-0 with a 1,079-872 advantage against No. 16 Fairleigh Dickinson, but No. 8 North Carolina A&T (954-1,016) and No. 17 McKendree (949-986) topped A-State to close out the first day of competition.

Youngstown State led total pinfall on day one with 5,282 pins, an average of 211.3. Vanderbilt (5,192), North Carolina A&T (5,172), Jacksonville State (5,148), Sam Houston (5,101), Wichita State (5,061) and Maryville (5,021) round out the seven teams ahead of A-State in the team standings.

Three position rounds and matchups with Belmont Abbey and Wright State await A-State in traditional play Saturday.
