The Arkansas State men's golf team closes out its regular season schedule hosting the A-State Spring Invitational beginning Monday at RidgePointe Country Club.
This will mark the first home event for A-State in the spring since the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate in 2019. Following the 2019 Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate, the event was moved to the fall portion of the schedule.
Joining the Red Wolves in the 10-team field are Austin Peay, Bradley, East Texas A&M, Houston Christian, New Orleans, SE Louisiana, Samford, Western Illinois and Xavier. In total, 60 players are in the tournament field.
A-State is ranked No. 82 in the latest Scoreboard national rankings with a 97-30 head-to-head record. The Red Wolves have set a lineup of Thomas Schmidt, Jake Lile, Chris Somerfield, Jack Maxey and Jake Wallis for the play five and count four team scoring. Milan Reed, Pierce Johnson and Cole Kirby will compete as individuals.
The 54-hole tournament begins with the first and second rounds played continuously on Monday with tee times beginning at 7:45 a.m. The final round begins Tuesday at 7:45 a.m. with split tee times. Â
