Red Wolves Open Play at William H. Tucker Invitational

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (9/19/25) - 

The Arkansas State men's golf team opened play at the William H. Tucker Invitational with a 36-hole total of 3-under par 576 to stand 12th among 18 teams at the UNM Championship Course. 

Following a 3-over par 291 in the first round, A-State turned in a 6-under par 282 in the second round to move up to 12th. Host New Mexico leads the field at 18-under par overall with Colorado (-16), USC (-14), Long Beach State (-12), Santa Clara (-12) and Grand Canyon (-12) comprising the top five and ties. The Red Wolves are three shots back of Tarleton State (-6), Fresno State (-6) and UTEP (-6) for eighth. 

Jake Wallis led A-State on the day posting a 36-hole total of 5-under par 139 for sixth individually, four back of the individual leader. Wallis opened with a 4-under par 68 and followed with a 1-under par 71 to close out the day. Thomas Schmidt rebounded from a 3–over par 75 with a 4-under par 68 in the second round to rank 36th individually at 1-under par. Chris Somerfield (75-71) and Jake Lile (73-73) are among players tied for 62nd at 2-over par while Milan Reed (79-72) and Viggo Hed (78-73) are tied for 91st.
