A-State Men’s Basketball Incoming Freshman Rho Omed Joins Program

1/9/2026 5:30:00 PM

JONESBORO, Ark. (1/9/26) – Arkansas State men's basketball head coach Ryan Pannone announced Friday that incoming freshman Rho Omed has enrolled early and joined the program as he prepares for the upcoming 2026-2027 season.

The Calgary, Alberta, native's early enrollment will allow him to acclimate to campus life, begin strength and conditioning with the team, and learn the program's system ahead of his freshman campaign.

"Rho's decision to enroll early shows a high level of maturity and dedication, and shows both his commitment to development and the program's long-term vision," said Pannone. "At 6'10, he brings size, skill, shooting ability, and upside to our frontcourt. This early start will be invaluable as he prepares for next season."

Omed is a member of the incoming 2026 recruiting class, joining the program out of SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio. He will be eligible to compete in the 2026-27 campaign.

A-State men's basketball announced the signing of four additional players to the 2026-27 roster on Nov. 18. Anthony Hester, Aliou Maiga, Aaron McGee, and Delang Muon will join Omed and the Red Wolves in Fall 2026.
