Bailey Wins 3000-Meter Steeplechase at Joe Walker Invite; A-State Concludes Competition at Bryan Clay Multis

AZUSA, Calif./OXFORD, Miss. (4/10/26) – Arkansas State track and field senior distance runner Mary Beth Bailey earned her second career event win at the Joe Walker Invitational and the Red Wolves concluded action at the Bryan Clay Multis on Friday.
 
JOE WALKER INVITE
Bailey clocked in at 11:26.87 and recorded a first-place finish for the first time since the Jayhawk Classic on January 28, 2022. Gracie Jacobs and Kat Schaefer claimed the next two spots, with the former recording a time of 11:36.23 while the latter registered a time of 11:37.38.
 
Egor Kniazev posted a distance of 62.90m (206-4.00) in the men's hammer throw and finished fourth in the event. The Haddasah Neurim Youth Village, Israel, native moved to fifth all-time in the A-State record book and holds the fourth-best distance among Sun Belt throwers.
 
Syriah Boyd also recorded a fourth-place finish after posting a personal-best time of 24.19 in the women's 200 meters. She moved from 10th to eighth in the program's outdoor record book for the event.
 
Robert York registered a distance of 55.81m (183-1.00) in the men's javelin throw and finished sixth. He moves to seventh in the Red Wolves' record book and ranks 14th in the Sun Belt.
 
Overall, 10 Red Wolves established new personal records and 10 finished inside the top 10.
 
BRYAN CLAY MULTIS
Kercher Herring and Colby Eddowes competed in the final day of the men's decathlon, and the former moved to seventh in program history for the event with a point total of 7,172. The Russellville native debuted in three events and established two personal bests, including a distance of 50.97m (167-2.00) in the javelin throw.
 
Eddowes won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 13.70 to start the day, and Herring posted a personal-best height of 4.90m (16-0.75) to finish fourth in the pole vault.
