AZUSA, Calif. (4/9/26) – Arkansas State track and field multi-event athletes
Colby Eddowes and
Kercher Herring competed in the men's decathlon for the first time in the 2026 season on Thursday at the Bryan Clay Multis.
Eddowes recorded top-10 finishes in the high jump and long jump, posting a height of 2.01m (6-7.00) to place fourth in the former while a 7.24m (23-9.00) mark secured fifth place in the latter. Herring finished at ninth place in the long jump after clearing a distance of 7.09m (23-3.25) and placed ninth again in the 400 meters with a time of 50.01.
Eddowes enters the backend of the decathlon at seventh place with a total of 4,053 points while Herring enters at 12th with a point total of 3,752.
