Biography

2008:  Led Arkansas State with 296 kills, averaging 3.89 per set to rank third in the Sun Belt Conference . . . led ASU in kills despite missing the last eight matches due to injury . . . posted double digit kills in 16 matches including a career high 25 in ASU's 3-1 victory Western Illinois September 13 . . . added 35 blocks to finish third on the team . . . recorded 192 digs . . . added 13 service aces and 12 assists . . . was named MVP of the Texas Southern Season-Opening Tournament . . . was also named to the all-tournament team at the Southern Illinois-Hampton Inn Saluki Invitational . . . named MVP of the Western Carolina Catamount Clash.


2007: Redshirted after transferring from North Idaho College.


Junior College:  Earned first team All-Region honors after leading North Idaho to a final ranking of 4th nationally and regional championship in 2006...earned second team All-Region honors in 2005.


High School: Four-year standout at Aiea High School...Oahu Interscholastic Association West 1st Team 2005...OIA West 2nd Team 2004...led Aiea to Oahu Interscholastic Association West championship in 2004 and 2005... team captain and female Athlete of the Year 2005...also a four-year varsity track and field athlete.


Personal: Daughter of Peter and Lii Purcell … born on Sept. 28, 1987 … major is interdisciplinary studies.
