HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Parkview High School where he led the team in batting average, hits and strikeouts by a pitcher in his senior season … holds the school record for strikeouts … led class 7A in strikeouts as a junior and tossed a perfect game … invited to participate in the Arkansas Coaches Association All-Star game in his senior year … invited to participate in the Xtra Innings Classic … invited to Team USA tryouts where he made through two rounds … ranked 44th in the nation for strikeouts as a freshman … received the Presidential Award for academic achievement while at Parkview.
