Biography

Coach Pittman Says:  “Chelsea is a player that because she plays equally with both her left and right foot, it opens up a number of possibilities for her to contribute to our group on the field, whether as a defender or a midfielder. She is a very good crosser of the ball and good in the air, which makes her very dangerous on set pieces so we are very excited about the 2008 season for her.”

2007:  Saw action in all 18 games and started in 17... had one goal against Florida International... and two assist against North Texas... had 6 shots on goal for a .667 percentage.

2006: Played 18 games with four starts against Tennessee-Chattanooga, Mississippi Valley State, Samford, and Alabama ... had three shots.

2005: Saw action in all 19 games as a true freshman including 16 starts at midfield and at the forward position ... recorded her first career collegiate point as she dished out an assist to Monica Roach against Sun Belt foe Troy.

High School: Four-year letterwinner at Seaman High School ... led her team in assists for the past two seasons and was named the Top Newcomer in 2003 ... member of the Kansas state ODP team in 2004 and part of the Topeka Select Galaxy Team ... National Honor Roll recipient all four years ... Who’s Who Among High School Students ... also participated in tennis at Seaman where she finished ninth in the state and third at the regional tournament.

Personal: Accounting and CIT major ... daughter of Gina Hopkins and Jack Hopkins ... born Aug. 6, 1987.
